Shoppers may soon be paying more for some online purchases.
The Supreme Court has ruled states can now collect sales taxes from online retailers, even if the retailers are out-of-state.
The High Court opinion overrules two old decisions that made it difficult for states to collect the taxes.
This means some of the biggest online retailers, including Wayfair, Overstock.com and Amazon may pass that additional cost to the shoppers.
