yesterdayMichael Snow, 32, of Massena, has been sentenced to 22 years to life in prison for the murder of 21-year-old Elizabeth Howell – a college student from Patterson who was fatally shot at SUNY Potsdam.
Howell, a music student, was found shot near the Crane School of Music in Feb. 2022.
Snow, who initially faced trial proceedings scheduled for yesterday, entered a guilty plea in June and was sentenced last month.
According to WWNY-TV and the Watertown Daily Times, District Attorney Gary Pasqua said Snow confessed to making a plot to create bad press for SUNY Potsdam before he killed Howell in a drive-by shooting. Pasqua said he wanted to harm a former co-worker, who was then employed at SUNY Potsdam, by randomly killing one of the university's students.
Snow expressed remorse for his actions during his sentencing.
