United Way gives over $5M worth of blankets, pillows to nonprofits

The United Way of Westchester and Putnam is giving out more than $5 million worth of blankets and pillows to those in need as the weather gets colder.
It unloaded 750 pallets of donations from Delta to several hundred Hudson Valley nonprofits.
These organizations will then take the items and distribute them out to those most in need in their communities.
The United Way says 40% of people living in the region are struggling to meet their most basic needs because of the pandemic.
Organizations looking to pick up blankets and pillows can still contact the United Way to sign up and receive a donation for at least the next two weeks.
