It was a somber day Saturday as friends and family gathered in both Yonkers and White Plains to say goodbye to two friends who died in a fiery car crash. The anguish caused by the death of a loved one could be felt at the Sinatra Funeral home on South Broadway in Yonkers Saturday. Family and friends came to a memorial service for 36-year-old Anthony Rivera. He died along with three other friends from Westchester Sunday on I-95 in the Bronx. Rivera was the only one to survive the fiery crash only to die a short time later in the hospital.
Just a few miles away in White Plains, more tears were shed for 25-year-old Eric MacDonald, who also lost his life in the horrendous crash. Relatives brought a picture of MacDonald, whose nickname was "Earth" because they say he was known as being a down-to-earth kind of guy.
Along with Rivera and MacDonald, 23-year-Jamar Frazer, of Port Chester, and 33-year-old Henry Summers, of White Plains, also died in the crash. Frazer?s funeral was held earlier in the week. Police are still investigating the cause of the accident. Witnesses reported that the car may have been speeding.
