A new Turn to Tara investigation reveals that there were over 35,000 animal collisions in New York, 7,669 in New Jersey, and 872 in Connecticut in 2023, resulting in 1,933 injuries and 13 deaths.

A shocking rise in animal crashes is putting drivers across the tri-state area on high alert.
A new Turn to Tara investigation reveals that there were over 35,000 animal collisions in New York, 7,669 in New Jersey, and 872 in Connecticut in 2023, resulting in 1,933 injuries and 13 deaths.
This translates to one animal-related crash every 15 minutes. New York's Orange and Suffolk counties topped the list of locations with accidents, with 1,608 and 1,448 crashes, respectively.
