A Tuckahoe man is doing what he can to help disadvantaged kids.

Cancer survivors, children with cerebral palsy and homeless kids were all honored at a dinner at Roma's in Tuckahoe on Tuesday night.

Marc Pintel organized the dinner and also gave out gifts to all the children.

Pintel also presented three personal checks to three local charities. He says he's not wealthy, but he somehow managed to donate thousands.

Pintel says each charity was chosen for a special reason; Gilda's Club because his mom died of cancer, Cerebral Palsy of Westchester because he has a son with special needs, and The Coachman Family Center because he believes says no one should be homeless for the holidays.

Even though Westchester is one of the wealthiest counties in the nation, officials at the County Coalition for the Homeless say there are more than 3,000 homeless people. They add that out of the 5 million plus meals served each year, 50 percent of those are for children.
