Strong winds of up to 50 miles per hour hit the Bronx Wednesday, uprooting trees and causing damage in some neighborhoods.
Residents say a large tree fell down, crushing an SUV on Sands Place off Westchester Avenue. Steve Speros, who was driving down the block as the tree fell, says he called 911, and the Parks Department came to cut the tree into pieces and remove it.
No one was injured, but residents think the owner of the Ford Expedition isn't home from work yet.
