Traffic is expected to be heavy in both New Rochelle and Rye today due to road work.
North Avenue over I-95 in the city of New Rochelle will be reduced to one lane today. The lane closures will be from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., to facilitate construction of the new bridge. New Rochelle police will alternate directions of traffic through the work zone. Police are urging motorist to find a different route.
And the Village of Rye Brook says there will be milling and paving on Brook Lane, Sunset Road, Jean Lane, and a portion of Phyllis Lane, starting today. They're advising residents to not park on the street during the hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Officials say the project will be completed by Friday July 21 at the latest. During this time, residents can also expect short duration road closures and congestion.
