The town of Woodbury has entered to win a makeover on the show “Home Town,” a spinoff show of HGTV’s “Home Makeover.”
The show is currently conducting a nationwide search for a small town to transform over the course of six episodes.
Residents of Woodbury, which includes the hamlets of Highland Mills and Central Valley, told News 12 that they hope their town is chosen and that it would be perfect for the show.
“I would like to see a lot more of the buildings cleaned up,” said Woodbury resident Kate Luciano. She added that she would like to see “some of the architecture put back up. More storefronts so this way other businesses will come in.”
Woodbury town members submitted a video just before the deadline earlier this month.
"We all sat here and just started going through ideas,” Luciano said. “We started going to the historical society, pulling out pictures of old buildings and everything and how the town used to look. The wheels just went in motion."
Ideas for the makeover include brick sidewalks for curb appeal and a restoration of Highland Mills and Central Valley.
Woodbury is not the only Hudson Valley candidate for the show, as Wappingers Falls and Washingtonville are also running for a makeover.
