Retail giants T.J. Maxx, Michael's and Five Below are moving into the Yorktown Green Shopping Center.
The stores will set up shop at 335 Downing Drive in place of the old Kmart store.
Business plans have been growing for the shopping center ever since the Uncle Giuseppe’s Marketplace location opened in 2022.
T.J. Maxx is a department store known for deals on fashion and home goods. Michael's is a one-stop-shop for arts and crafts.
Five Below markets some of its discount goods for $5 or less.
"These new stores will not only enrich our retail offerings but also contribute to the vitality and vibrancy of our community. We look forward to providing an exceptional shopping experience for all our visitors" said Eden Kongoli, vice president of Oster Properties.
A grand opening date has yet to be announced and Oster Properties is waiting to get alteration plans for the former Kmart location approved by the town board.
More businesses will be coming to the Town of Yorktown.
Mr. Softee and Nathan’s Famous Hot Dogs will have its food trucks at the former Subway space on 1992 Commerce St. on April 1 as a preview to its store opening.
A Crumbl Cookies bakery is also coming to the BJ’s Wholesale Club on Crompond Road.
“We will continue our economic development work by focusing on other local shopping centers that require reimagination,” said Deputy Supervisor Ed Lachterman.
