Pine Bush High School lifted its lockdown Tuesday afternoon following a report of a possible shooting threat that disrupted the whole school day.
Stella Laureano, mother of a Pine Bush High School student, says her daughter sent her text messages from inside the school around 12:40 p.m.
"She told me if anything happens, I wanted to say, 'I love you' and I'm sorry if I was ever a bad kid," she says.
Just before that message, someone had called 911 saying there was an active shooter in school, prompting a lockdown at the high school and Crispell Middle School.
Police found that there was no shooter and no threat.
Laureano says that during that time of uncertainty, she tried to stay calm for her daughter.
"I'm saying, don't worry, you're going to be OK. You're going to be fine. I just want her to not be nervous, to be calm," she says.
A school board member says that police cleared the high school room by room.
While they were doing that, district administrators notified parents about the delayed dismissal and pickup plan.
