With fewer than 10 days until Election Day, candidates for county legislator in District 1 spent Saturday drumming up support for their campaigns.
Republican John Testa, the former Peekskill councilman and mayor, is hoping to replace longtime GOP leader George Oros. Testa says he'll fight to reduce taxes.
"They have spiraled to a point where everyone is concerned," he says.
Testa's Democratic opponent, Domenic Volpe, ran for county Legislature twice before, but he's hoping this time he'll succeed.
"We've got to continue to hold the line on taxes, to make sure we continue to make Westchester affordable," Volpe says.
