Luxury electric carmaker Telsa is opening up shop in two Greenburgh locations as it expands its footprint.
The company hopes to put a dealership and service center in the old Jeraci food plant in the Fairview Corporate Park and an education and delivery center on Route 119 in the building where the Joyce Leslie clothing store used to be.
Tesla is just one of the national chains opening on Route 119. Crews are putting the finishing touches on Harbor Freights Tools. Also on the way is Chipotle, Panera Bread and a new 24-hour fitness center.
Greenburgh Town Supervisor Paul Feiner says he hopes Tesla is the start of a major business boom in the area. Feiner says their goal is to have all the approvals for the dealership completed by the end of the year.
The company, known for its $80,000 electric cars, is about to start production on a $35,000 model.
