A Bronx teenager is recovering in the hospital after a robber allegedly slashed her in the face.
The 18-year-old victim wants to remain anonymous because she says she's very scared after what happened. She says the incident occurred while she was going to get a snack at a deli grocery shop after being let out of Lehman High School for the day.
Police confirm that at 3:15 p.m. Monday, a man walked up to her on the street outside a Walgreens, demanded the chain around her neck and then ripped it off her, hurting her neck, cheek and earlobe. Police say he then went into the victim's right pocket, took the $6 she had in there and then punched her in the face.
The girl told News 12 The Bronx that he also pulled out a box cutter and slashed her face. Police say the suspect ran away toward the Bruckner Expressway.
