Developers were given the green light on Thursday to purchase 20 acres of land for a Target superstore and a new park.
The Yonkers Target will be directly behind the Stew Leonard's and near Costco on Austin Avenue.
The Westchester County Industrial Development Agency approved the sale for $32 million, $19 million of which will be received by the county and the remainder by Yonkers.
The project is supposed to create nearly 600 full-time jobs.
Eight acres will be used by Target, while about 11 acres will be used for a park.
The deal could close within coming weeks, and the plan calls for construction beginning next spring.
