A Yonkers birthday party turned into a murder scene Saturday after police say a gang feud led to gunfire, machete wielding and more.
Police say 18-year-old Elizar Segundo, of Yonkers, was shot and killed across the street from the Portuguese American Community Center where the party was held. His killer remains at large. Investigators say moments later, a 15-year-old boy was stabbed in the stomach in the community center lobby. Officials say Jorge Garcia, 17, has been charged in the stabbing. About two hours later, a man was struck in the head and arm with a machete at the corner of New Main Street and Park Hill Avenue. The victim received seven staples to his head. Authorities believe the machete attack was retaliation for the killing.Investigators say the violent string of events was the result of a fight between rival Mexican gangs Vatos Locos and Cholos 18. Officials say one of the gangs crashed the party. Anyone with information about the crimes is asked to call police at 914-377-7725.
