Survey: Back-to-school costs over $1,000
Back-to-school shopping is in full swing! Forbes Magazine says parents anticipate spending an average of $1,239 this back-to-school season. This is up 8 percent from 2014, and up 24 percent since 2011.

Back-to-school shopping is in full swing!
Forbes Magazine says parents anticipate spending an average of $1,239 this back-to-school season. This is up 8 percent from 2014, and up 24 percent since 2011.
Many parents say they are cutting back on their own expenses, such as dining out, to pay for these costs.
The magazine also says that studies show that teachers spend an average of $490 of their own money on back-to-school supplies.
