A Wallkill man is facing charges after police say he used a credit card from a lost wallet to make unauthorized purchases in Ulster County.
The New Paltz Police Department says a resident reported losing a wallet last month and later discovered nearly $300 in unauthorized charges on a credit card.
During the investigation, officers reviewed surveillance footage from businesses where the purchases were made.
Police say the video helped identify the suspect as 32-year-old Maximo Villalonga, of Wallkill.
Villalonga was later arrested and charged with grand larceny, criminal possession of stolen property and petit larceny.
He was processed at the New Paltz Police Department and released pending an appearance in the Town of New Paltz Court.
