Thousands of people laced up their walking shoes in Yorktown Heights Sunday to raise awareness and funds for breast and ovarian cancers.
The 20th annual Support-A-Walk event was held in FDR Park.
Organizers say that more than 10,000 people participated in the event.
For some people, the walk was an opportunity to give back after overcoming cancer.
Others took part in the event to show support for coworkers, family or friends.
All the money raised from the event will go to Support Connections, a free support services organization for people affected by breast and ovarian cancers.
