A traffic diversion was put in place for Stew Leonard Drive in Yonkers due to abnormally high congestion.

Police say traffic from the incoming storm and Super Bowl shopping may have prevented emergency vehicles from reaching the area.

Stew Leonard Drive will be intermittently opened and closed for the rest of the day.

Drivers are urged to avoid the area.
