Massive fire melts tractor-trailer on Thruway in Orange County, no serious injuries

Photos show the truck was almost completely melted. The Thruway reopened around 4:30 a.m.

A tractor-trailer burst into flames on the New York State Thruway in Orange County late Monday night, shutting down traffic in both directions for several hours.
The fire started around 11 p.m. as the truck was heading onto the northbound side from Route 17 in Harriman. The Woodbury Fire Department says the fire was the result of a crash.

It took nearly an hour for firefighters to knock down the flames. Photos show the truck was almost completely melted. The Thruway reopened around 4:30 a.m.
Police say no serious injuries were reported. There’s no word yet on what the truck was carrying
