The Sullivan County Department of Public Health has recently shared multiple tips to keep people safe around campfires the rest of the summer.
They say the campfires should be at least 25 feet away from any building or item that can burn, including any dry leaves, sticks, overhanging low branches and shrubs.
Children or pets should be far away from the fire when they're playing.
Officials added people should avoid burning on windy, dry days.
Using gasoline or any other flammable liquids should also be prohibited.
