Students and staff at George Baker High School have been waiting for weeks to learn if the school will remain open next year.
The Tuxedo school is in danger of closing because it doesn't have enough students.
About 70 percent of the high school's students live in the Greenwood Lake School District. They are able to attend George Baker because the districts have a long-running special arrangement.
Officials in the Greenwood Lake School District now want to end the relationship.
George Baker officials applied to the state to become a charter school, in the hope that it would bring in extra money. The application was rejected, leaving the school with no real options but to close its doors.
The school board met behind closed doors Tuesday to weigh their options. They say they will have an answer in a week.
Students are vowing to fight for their school.
