It was 30 years ago that seven astronauts lost their lives aboard the Space Shuttle Challenger.
About 30 children gathered at the Town of Ramapo Challenger Center to learn about what it takes to be an astronaut.
They were all assigned a hands-on role, including some in Mission Control and some on the spacecraft. The roles included acting as engineers and technicians.
