The attorney for the unarmed black man from Poughkeepsie who was shot and killed by a New Jersey State trooper last month is now speaking out.
The incident between 28-year-old Maurice Gordon and the New Jersey state troopers happened on May 23 on the Garden State Parkway.
The dash cam footage was just released on Monday.
"Who was his killer? Did he die on the scene? Did he die in the hospital? Did he die in an ambulance? And then when they finally allow me access to see the video, they don't show me the entire encounter," says attorney William Wagstaff III. “They stopped the video with 15 minutes left and it becomes hostile. They tell me, ‘well if you keep pushing to see any more of the video, that's gonna be the end of this meeting.’ So they convincingly try to tell people that this was justified and I think at this point, it's just another institutional cover-up."
