It was a relatively nice Tuesday, all across the Hudson Valley, after a cool and crisp start to the day. Clouds will gradually move in as we move into this evening, with rain showers to follow by daybreak Wednesday.
A large storm system will swing into the Northeast Wednesday into Thursday, but sadly not completely leave the region until Saturday morning. Expect scattered rain showers in the morning hours Wednesday with on and off batches of rain for the evening hours. Breezy winds will pick up Wednesday evening into Thursday.
Thursday will be a raw day with batches of moderate to heavy rain at times as well as steady winds 20-30 mph. There may be isolated gusts over 30 mph. The combination of the wind and the rain will make the day feel more like a late fall day than a late spring one. There will also be reduced visibility at times, especially after sunset. Ponding on roadways is likely but widespread flooding is not. As of now, there are no alerts from the National Weather Service.
As the system pulls away Friday, a few spotty showers are possible Friday. Saturday, the system is heading further away with some breezy winds to linger.
This weekend is the "unofficial start of summer" with Memorial Day coming on Monday and a lot of events, parades and festivals will be occurring. The weather is improving through the holiday weekend. With Saturday having the small shower chance and then drier conditions move in for the hours & days to follow into Memorial Day itself.
