The westbound lanes of Route 59 reopened Saturday after major flooding forced multiple Rockland County roads to close.
Officials say Bobby Lane should also reopen shortly. News 12 crews on Friday evening observed a woman walk out of flood waters after her car got stuck on that road.
The eastbound lanes that lead toward Nyack could be closed for much of the weekend. Officials say Saturday night is the soonest the left lane may reopen.
Clarkstown Supervisor George Hoehmann told News 12 that they have been pushing for the DOT to address the known flooding issue in the area.
"This is a major east-west corridor – the major east-west corridor outside of the NYS thruway, in Rockland County, in our town. It's really unacceptable that it continues to flood in the manner in which it does,” he said.
