With an ice storm warning in effect for Orange County through Tuesday, drivers are urged to stay off the roads if possible as conditions may become dangerous.
County Executive Steve Neuhaus says that ice storms have been the worst storm he has dealt with.
The National Weather Service says people need to drive slowly and carefully in this type of weather, pointing out that nearly half a million people are injured in car accidents because of weather conditions.
Neuhaus tells News 12 that crews were out all day Sunday treating the roads to prepare for the overnight.
He says that people should stay home if possible, be extremely careful about the ice and take your time when commuting.
