A man has been arrested and charged in the fatal stabbing of a man in Monroe early Saturday morning.

State police say Samuel Del Cid Hernandez stabbed 25-year-old Luis Rafael Garcia Rivera above a storefront on Lake Street.

Anthony Amatetti, the acting chief of the Village of Monroe Police Department, called the stabbing “an isolated incident perpetrated by one individual.” He says there is no threat to the community.

Further details surrounding the incident have not been released.
