New York has issued a health advisory in the wake of as many as 50 people in up to six states coming down with breathing illnesses that may be linked to e-cigarettes or other vaping products.
The advisory, issued by the state Department of Health, says there have been 11 cases of unexplained vaping-related pulmonary illness reported to the state. One of those cases was in Westchester County.
The patients range from ages 18 to 49.
The Department of Health is currently studying the health impacts of vaping. Officials say if you are experiencing symptoms such as coughing, fever, shortness of breath or chest pains, to stop using e-cigarettes and talk to a doctor.
