A high school student pleaded not guilty Wednesday to stabbing another teenager on campus.
Officials say the violence happened during a fight between two students at Valley Spring High School on Monday. Spring Valley court officials say 18-year-old Kareiffe Thompson is accused of bringing a knife to school, chasing a 17-year-old victim and then cutting him with the weapon.
The student was not badly hurt, but now has an order of protection against the suspect. Thompson has been charged with assault and criminal possession of a weapon, and is in jail on $200 bail.
His next court appearance is scheduled for July.
