2ds agoSpring Valley High School will shut down in-person learning until 2022 after discovering hazardous materials in the building.
Tests have revealed mold and asbestos at Spring Valley High School, which forced district officials to close the building until next year.
It began Tuesday night when students were moved to online learning after officials say they discovered hazardous materials inside.
On Wednesday, they reported that it was just mold, but further testing this week revealed a much bigger problem - requiring months of remediation and abatement.
In the meantime, students will learn remotely until the work is done.

There are growing concerns about just how long the district knew about these issues without acting.
News 12 is sending FOIL requests to the state Education Department for answers.
