Westchester County Executive Andy Spano on Wednesday announced a plan to offer free Bee-Line bus rides on three separate days in the next few months.
Spano's announcement came at the unveiling of a newly renovated bus plaza in Mount Vernon. Improvements to the bus plaza include wider sidewalks, new bus shelters and benches for riders, a landscaped median and new street lighting.
Rob Astorino, who is looking to replace Spano as county executive, called into question the timing of the announcement, saying it was politically motivated.
