Sources tell News 12 that Westchester's third-term District Attorney Janet DiFiore is being considered for a spot on New York's Court of Appeals.
Westchester's Democratic Chair Reginald Lafayette says few people in the state have the political chops as DiFiore.
"She was a former state Supreme Court judge, she was a county judge, a prosecutor - she has the experience," he says.
Lafayette says the judgeship is far from a done deal and that a judicial committee needs to pick out a handful of names and then give it to the governor.
DiFiore has been the Westchester district attorney for the past 10 years.
