According to the United States attorney, 13 people were charged as part of an international ring targeting cellphone shipments, three from Brooklyn.
News 12 has learned the group would pay attention to FedEx deliveries and steal packages with cellphones by stealing sensitive data from FedEx and a major phone provider and bribing their employees to divulge confidential information.
The group allegedly fenced them out of a home in The Bronx as well as a location in Brooklyn. That is where the thieves received bulk deliveries of stolen devices from all over the country.
Homeland Security, U.S. Marshals, NYPD and Suffolk County police officers spent hours investigating in The Bronx Tuesday.
All 13 suspects are charged with conspiracy to transport and receive stolen property.
