A new report says Westchester County is lighting the way in an effort to help the planet's environment.
The study done by the Environment Research and Policy Center says Westchester ranks number two in the nation for having the most homes and businesses with solar panels.
Yesterday, at the Science Barge on the Yonkers waterfront, State Sen. Andrea Stewart-Cousins, County Legislator Catherine Parker, and members of the center spoke about the benefits of pollution-free energy. "I think really that the county government is making such a mandate of doing this. I'm hoping that residents will also see that this is the way that they can do their part too," says Parker.
New York State ranks ninth in the nation for the use of solar panels for power.
