The 32nd annual JPMorgan Chase Hudson Valley Hot-Air Balloon Festival is soaring high at Tymor Park in Dutchess County - just in time for the holiday weekend.
The event kicked off Friday with thousands expected to visit.
Only 4,000 people are allowed in at a time, which gives patrons an up close and personal view of the incredible balloons.
Event organizers estimate they will have 20,000 visitors by the end of the weekend.
The festival also helps raise money that goes back to the community. Organizers expect they will raise about $100,000 this year.
"It goes into the chamber foundation scholarship funds, which support education," says Frank Castella Jr., president and CEO of the Dutchess County Regional Chamber of Commerce.
