Rockland County graduation moves indoors due to hot temps
It didn’t stop dozens of families and students to come together to celebrate this year’s 17 graduates.

The Jesse J. Kaplan Schools graduation was held indoors Friday because of the heat.
It didn’t stop dozens of families and students to come together to celebrate this year’s 17 graduates.
"Today's a special day,” said Steve Ovadia, from Airmont. “Our son Daniel works really hard."
Steve’s son Daniel graduated Friday. He has been at the school since 2016.
Jesse J. Kaplan is where those with autism, cognitive disabilities, medical fragility and other disabilities learn.
"This school helped him a lot. It's been a big challenge and a long road but it all lead to today," said Steve.
The ceremony was jampacked with singing, speeches and more.
The class of 2024 got a chance to speak to the crowd and get their diploma.
"Whether it be medical conditions, or communication difficulties, or physical limitations, the students have worked so hard and we're so proud of them," said Sheila Hudson, the school’s Principal.
The graduates were from Orange, Rockland and Westchester counties.
