The beaches at Smiths Point and Cupsogue Beach county parks are closed to swimming on Wednesday due to high-surf conditions.

The Suffolk County Parks Department posted the notice on its Facebook page.

Earlier in the day, the Parks Department said the high-surf conditions will close the campgrounds and outer beaches at Montauk and Shinnecock East.

“This closure will remain in place for at least Thursday and Friday. We will be evaluating the coastal conditions over the next couple of days, and will determine when it's safe to reopen," it said.
