Some sixth-graders studying the weather got some expert advice from one of News 12's own yesterday.

Brysen Van Eck visited Suffern Middle School yesterday and explained how meteorologists come up with their forecasts. He also talked about how the students can be "at-home" weathercasters.

The kids seem inspired to learn more about the science behind weather. "I think it was very fascinating, like seeing all the weather maps and how he was explaining all the clouds and all that," says sixth-grader Brooke Bregman. "I learned a lot of new words and different things about science and I might want to be a weatherman someday," adds sixth-grader Sean Stead.

When the class is finished studying weather, they will move on to earthquakes and volcanoes.
