The holiday season is officially in full swing, and what a better way to celebrate than by supporting local businesses.
Shoppers in the Hudson Valley will be supporting local businesses during Small Business Saturday, and some towns and villages have taken steps to make the experience easier.
In the Village of Tuckahoe, the police department says meters will be suspended every Saturday starting today through Christmas. The meters will be covered in holiday bags; and the department says shoppers can park up to 30 minutes free of charge while they shop.
Orange County Executive Steven Neuhaus released a statement saying in part, " When you shop locally, you are boosting the economy and strengthening the fabric of the community... I encourage residents to support our neighborhood shops and restaurants not just on Small Business Saturday but throughout the entire year."
