While Mike Spano is celebrating his victory in the 93rd state Assembly race Tuesday, his older brother Nick Spano remains entrenched in a recount.

Mike Spano?s Democratic opponent Shelley Mayer conceded the race after all of the recount votes were tallied. Mayer says she congratulated Mike Spano on his victory and felt proud of her campaign. Mike Spano was able to hold onto his lead to win a seat that he has held once before. Mike Spano says he looks forward to serving the people of Yonkers in Albany. He also thanked Mayer for a spirited campaign.

Meanwhile, Senator Nick Spano is still trailing Democrat Andrea Stewart-Cousins in the 35th Senate District recount. Stewart-Cousins has been optimistic of a victory ever since election night. However, she says she would patiently wait for the Board of Elections to complete its recount.
