Minisink Valley Central School District is adjusting its schedule today due to sewer repairs, leading to differing arrangements for students across grade levels.
A statement to parents from school officials indicated a two-hour delay for younger students following an unexpected issue at the waste treatment facility overnight.
High school and middle school students are urged to access their remote instruction schedules via Chromebooks, beginning at 9:40 a.m., coinciding with the two-hour delay. Teaching staff for both levels will conduct remote work.
However, all elementary buildings—Otisville, Minisink Valley Intermediate School, and Minisink Valley Elementary School—will open following a two-hour delay schedule, with no reported disruptions to water services, cafeteria operations, or restroom facilities.
Classes proceeded as usual for students in out-of-district placements.
As a result of the repairs, all after-school programs and athletic practices for the day have been canceled.
Officials have not provided an estimated timeline for the completion of repairs.
