People in one Airmont neighborhood say a nearby sewer pumping station is causing a smelly situation.
The Rockland County Sewer Commission say it has been treating emissions to eliminate odors coming from the Twin Lakes pump house located at the corner of South Monsey Road and Twin Lakes Road.
But people living nearby say the odors still linger. "It's kind of tough because you can't even sit outside sometimes. And you know if you have company, it's kind of embarrassing too. It's like being in a toilet," says neighbor Rita Goldblum.
County officials say they've detected no odor problem, but that they should be notified immediately whenever odors are detected.
