Thousands gathered at the Scarsdale Municipal Pool to enjoy a Fourth of July celebration Thursday.
Those in attendance were treated to food, live music and swimming. Scarsdale has been hosting the event for more than 40 years.
"We live in a great country," says Chris Piekarski, who was a lifeguard at the pool more than 20 years ago. "It's a nice show of patriotism, really just a beautiful event every year."
The main event was a fireworks spectacular. Officials say more than 2,100 fireworks lit up the sky.
