Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino is calling for an independent investigation of Gov. Andrew Cuomo and the ethics panel he created.
A New York Times article alleged the governor pressured the Moreland Commission's panel not to investigate political donors and allies.
Gov. Cuomo is not the only person drawing criticism from Republicans. Former Yonkers GOP Councilman John Murtagh says there is plenty of blame to go around.
"We've heard nothing from Dean Skelos, the GOP leader," he says. "I think he should be more vocal."
Murtagh says it begs the question as to why he is staying silent.
News 12 has learned that as many as 20 senators from both parties may have been under review before the Moreland Commission was shut down.
Republicans are also calling on New York State Attorney General Eric Schneiderman to weigh in on the Moreland Commission. Schneiderman has refused to comment.
