A community housing workshop in New Rochelle unveils its newest affordable housing development called Rose on Main.
Leaders say the development will expand homeownership opportunities for working families, seniors and first-time buyers.
Rose on Main, located at 455 Main St., will have 126 units available through a housing lottery.
Attendees learned about eligibility requirements, the lottery application process and financing options.
News 12 spoke with a first-time home buyer who says finding affordable housing is a struggle.
"What they say is income affordable, for a lot of us, it's really not. Like we're still below that threshold and I feel like for New Rochelle, it's kind of opened up that bracket for us, you know, for folks within my income limit," said one attendee.
The developer says this will be one of many workshops that will be held over the summer.
