Residents from villages across the Hudson Valley are heading to the polls Wednesday to cast votes in local elections.
In Sleepy Hollow, voters are choosing a new mayor after Philip Zegarelli, who served for 10 years, chose not to seek re-election. Republican real estate attorney Alan Singer and first-term Democratic village trustee Kenneth Wray are looking to fill the position.
"[Zegarelli] was a tremendous asset to the village and we all appreciate everything he did, but I think both candidates are good,? says Kay Brown Grala, of Sleepy Hollow.
The polls will be open until 9 p.m.
