Republicans Killian, Schorr receive nods to run for state Senate seat
Westchester Republicans met Wednesday to decide which nominee would run for Westchester County Executive George Latimer's vacant state Senate seat.
Former Rye Councilwoman Julie Killian - who unsuccessfully ran against Latimer two years ago - and former Yonkers Inspector General Dan Schorr both received nods.
District leaders will now have to choose a candidate the old fashioned way: checking a name on a ballot.
The 37th District represents most of the Sound Shore. The Republican nominee would face off against the Democrats' choice, Assemblywoman Shelley Mayer.
The special election for the Senate seat will be held April 24.
