Remains found in submerged car ID’d as woman missing for over 30 years
White Plains police have confirmed that the human remains found in a car submerged in the Muscoot Reservoir in Somers are those of a woman missing for over 30 years.
Police say an autopsy ruled the death of 40-year-old Brenda Kerber a suicide by drowning.

Her identity was confirmed by matching dental records from the case file with skeletal remains.
The case was reopened after New York City DEP police located a car submerged in the reservoir.
Family members have been notified.
Kerber was last seen in September 1989 and reported missing 10 days later by her landlord.
